When COVID struck, Morgan Hill Unified School District (MHUSD) staff prepared the Sobrato Performing Arts Center to serve the South County as a COVID Vaccination Clinic. When limited County vaccine resources were sent only to vaccine clinics in San Jose, Larry Carr stepped up and provided a partner with the vaccine and a pharmacy team to host the Sobrato clinic. The clinic Larry started not only vaccinated thousands of District students and employees but became the preferred and convenient vaccination location for all children and adults in South County.

COVID was very tough on our kids, teachers and staff, especially during significant life events like high school graduation. Larry saw the problem and suggested downtown banners with every local senior’s picture for recognition of their educational success. Larry secured funding and recruited volunteers. He helped us recognize our students and employees, created community pride and lifelong memories. Community building leadership is critical today. Larry is a community builder and constantly looking for ways to support our youth. I proudly support Larry Carr for Mayor."

"I am honored to have the support of Superintendent Betando. Steve led our school district during the most difficult times of a global pandemic. He was always a community partner, a great resource for the City of Morgan Hill, and focused on our kids' education and our teachers and professional staff well-being. As your Mayor, I will be the strongest advocate for young people in Morgan Hill. With my background as a former School District Trustee I'll be ready on Day One to partner with our schools on behalf of our kids."
